Many teams had to make cuts to some of their best players in order to stay under the cap when teams reduced their rosters to 53 players on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh Steelers might be interested in some of that skill. Strong starting receiver is still desperately needed on the roster as the team waits for a resolution to the problem involving Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers. While the organization isn’t able to just sign a player with the caliber of Aiyuk, there are still several choices that may be signed and help Pittsburgh right away. One such player is Noah Brown.
The Houston Texans cut Brown on Tuesday after he had a stellar season in which he finished with 567 receiving yards in just 10 games. After Diontae Johnson, who was moved to the Carolina Panthers in the summer, and George Pickens, he would have had the third-most yards on the squad the previous season. The Steelers give Brown the chance to start right away for a team that is trying to win both their division and a playoff spot, despite the fact that he may have a strong market. In addition, Brown offers the Steelers a far less expensive and hazardous alternative to Aiyuk. After playing six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Brown spent one season with the Houston Rockets. He attended Ohio State University for his undergraduate career, where in 2015 he took home a national championship.
