Good News: Just In Houston Texans Announced The Singing Of Top Defensive Tackle

The Texans, who were mentioned as a potential suitor for the best defensive lineman scheduled to enter free agency, will add a lower-end player to the position. Houston has agreed to a one-year contract with Foley Fatukasi, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.

Last Monday, the Jaguars cut loose Fatukasi, ending his two-year tenure with the team. However, suitors surfaced quite soon, and the Texans were among those who entertained him. The run-stop specialist found a new home quickly and did not have to wait until free agency to land a deal.

Following his four-year rookie contract with the Jets, the 29-year-old signed a $30MM deal with Jacksonville. But throughout his time as a Jaguar, Fatukasi failed to establish himself as a reliable pass-rusher, which caused the team to decide to let him go with one year remaining on his contract. He will now try to keep his starting position on Houston’s defensive line, which has been the subject of rumors of a big arrival.

Christian Wilkins, a defensive tackle for the Dolphins, might see action from the Texans. The best interior defender available this week is Wilkins, who easily tops the list with Chris Jones having signed a huge re-up with the Chiefs. Houston will at least have an experienced rotational option in Fatukasi if their relentless pursuit of a deal with the former first-round pick is unsuccessful.
