Sad News: Just In Los Angeles Dodgers Confirm Another Experienced Super Star Player Injured

In his most recent spring training session, the former Dodger prospect had a serious hand injury.

Jonny DeLuca, an outfielder with the Tampa Bay Rays and former Los Angeles Dodgers prospect, was struck by a pitch on Sunday, breaking his hand.

After being brought to the nearby hospital, DeLuca’s prognosis was four to six weeks out. Through X, insider Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times said.

The Dodgers sent reliever Ryan Pepiot and DeLuca to the Rays in mid-December in exchange for starter Tyler Glasnow and Manuel Margot.

The right-hand hitter was selected by the Dodgers in the 25th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

The 25-year-old played in 24 big league games the previous season. Before being optioned back to the minors in late July, DeLuca had a.262 average in his debut season as a big leaguer, two home runs, and six RBIs.

The native of Thousand Oaks will now miss his new team’s regular season opener. We hope he doesn’t miss a beat when he gets back to the diamond and wish him well in his recuperation.
